Hello,
I Moldflow adviser 2024, in some tutorials (fill analysis quick start tutorial and others) it says to choose 2D analysis when importing the part, however the software says the part is suited for 3D analysis. In older versions of Moldflow which I had the software said the part is suited for 2D like in the tutorial. Where is the problem?
Hi,
Do you refer to information such as:
Moldflow Adviser Help | Quickstart Fill tutorial: Create a project | Autodesk
Generally speaking, this should have been reviewed before a release that tutorial and software agree.
Probably some tweaking in software, or unexpected defect occurred.
Believe Autodesk tech support need to review this.
Mason, could you have a look at this?
Thanks.

Berndt
Hello @victormarian ,
I am not sure the last time these were updated. As @bernor_mf there could be minor changes in version to version. I run most of my Adviser parts in 3D anyways.
Mason
I imported a simple sheet of 1 mm thickness and 110 mm side. The software advises 3D simulation.
Thank you again @victormarian .
@raalteh Are you aware of this issue? Please let me know if I should create a support case or JIRA ticket.
Mason
@mason.myers I don't think we made intentional changes here. This could be a bug ...
Hi,
just wanted to follow up if you could repeat this, and found the issue?
Thanks.

Berndt
Hello.
It seems the software recommends simulations on 3D on tutorial parts that before were recommended as dual domain. However, I imported a plastic cup with perfectly constant wall and the software recommended 2D. So not all parts are recommended as 3D. It seems a shift more on 3D side. However the tutorials should also be adapted.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your findings. ![]()
