What is the meaning of the gray and black lines?

Hi. I try to print an STL file that is all in black and gray lines. I can't select or do anything. How can I fix it?

A stripe pattern on a surface means that you are watching the backside of the surface. In most modes of MM this stripes are in pale pink. In SELECT selected back faces show a black/grey pattern.

If an object is flipped all over it is a cavity (inside a infinite world filled with material).

Easily fixed if this flipping happens all over the object:

Hit Ctrl+A to SelectAll and run Edit/FlipNormals in SELECT. > Now the Object should be white as usual...
