Strap holes in existing models

Is there a way to make elongated holes for adding straps on to pre existing mask models in meshmixer

You might generate an elongated-hole object and use it to cut the holes via BooleanDifference:

  • drop a cylinder from MESHMIX/Primitives to an empty space of your scene > this generates a separate cylinder object.
  • EDIT/PlaneCut (at CutType = SliceGroups)  this cylinder in vertical.
  • In SELECT select one of its groups double clicking it and Deform/Transform it to give an "elongated cylinder"
  • EDIT/Transform(scale) it to the desired size. Make sure it is higher than the mask's wall thickness.

  • Use EDIT/Transform to place it on the mask where you want one hole.
  • EDIT/Duplicate it and Transform it to the masks other side.

  • Make the mask the active object and Shift+click one of the elongated cylinders
  • Run EDIT/BooleanDifference

Do the same operation (mask-cylinder) with the other elongated cylinder.
