Need help with exporting complex stl

I have a basic triangle with 4 smaller triangles on top of the base triangle. Making the face groups seem to work fine and making the complex and splitting the complex seems ok but when I go to export it, it does not show the STL Binary that groups it all together, just the basic STL Binary format.  I am trying to make multi STL from 1 STL so I can print the different areas into color using the Mosaic Pallet 2 pro.

To export a complex as a sequence of files you need to export the complex object NOT the split parts.

I have already tried that but same problem. the option of "STL Binary sequence, One File per Region (*.stl)" is not there?

Hmm, which version of Meshmixer do you use?

Just to make sure:

1. Activate the object with the (complex) index in the ObjectBrowser

2. Click on EXPORT

3. Expanding the export formats options (this screenshot was done on macOS) you should see the sequence options...Ohne Titel.jpeg

Hmm, no clue about what is happening here... Maybe some WIN incompatibility???

So I can't give you a better advice but to run EDIT/SplitComplex and to Export the resulting objects one by one as a  STL.

If you export to the same directory the result will be the same....

This is definitely a bug. I can't export STL sequence too. I'm on win 10

Will try another software...

@mykolka

Don't know any software to handle MM complex objects. Actually such objects are using non manifolds.

Maybe you're doing something wrong in the Complex tool:

After accepting GenerateComplex: Does the something(complex) object show any green lines like this:?

Ohne Titel.jpeg

Note: You can get a "complex" object if you never generated complex surfaces (e.g. by accepting GenerateComplex without doing anything inside the tool).

E.g. the upper example looks like this:

Ohne Titel.jpeg

In this case there are no sequence options on export.

Cura did the trick for me (with a plugin). Splitted complex scene into separate objects.

Interesting!  - Which Cura plugin?
