how to fix meshmixer not opening windows 10

hey guys

after installing mesh mixer on windows 10 and it just not opening at all and trying to fix after reading the forums and not finding anything that would work. I gave up to be honest and went to another program instead and that did work either but... In finding the solution for that one I found that it worked for  mesh mixer also so here are the step hope it works for you.

step 1 . go ___hyperlink removed___ and download the file.

step 2. go to your download folder and unzip the file and open it once its unzipped.

step 3. copy the file named opengl32.dll

step 4. go to your desk top and go the the meshmixer icon an right click and go to open file location. then paste the file in the the file location.

step 5. after pasting the file into the file location close the window.

step 6. then try and open meshmixer may take afew seconds.

Awesome, thanks, good to know. There is a post on this forum every month or so regarding someone not being able to open MM.

I pray to the Autodesk Gods for another MM update, but they've made it pretty clear a few times on here that won't be happening.

Try 3.3 instead of 3.5.

Thanks. It worked for me with v. 3.5 and Virtualbox 6.1.20 (Ubuntu 20.04 host/Win 10 guest).

Thanks, Copying the Opengl32.dll file into the meshmixer folder worked for me. Working with Windows 10 and Meshmixer v3.5.474

Thanks a lot. The problem was solved easy and quickly. I had this problems four months ago and wont found the solution until arrive here.

If the fix is to place opengl32.dll into the program location, there is no need to download this file from the internet, which is in fact a very risky thing to do.  This file can be found on almost every Windows OS pc, in the System32 folder under the Windows folder.  If that is what works, simply COPY (don't MOVE) the file to the program folder.  Files downloaded from unverified sites may contain viruses, adware, spyware etc... that put your computer and your data at risk.

Well if program worked I wouldn't of had to do this. And I am only sharing what I found that helped me. I don't post in forums ever but I thought this could help other people which is has. I wouldn't post anything that would lead to causing harm to people's computers.

Strange... had same installing problem.

first nothing happened..
semingly the installer installed the software. but somehow in a silent way..
Absolutely no desctop shortcut has been created. and windows search does not find the app.

however when i manually browse installed softwares in (C:) i can find a meshmixer there and surprisingly it runs..

just no desctop setup..   Weird!
