Bridge gap between shells

Hi, Could someone please tell me how to bridge a gap between shells with Meshmixer? (or other suggestions)

I have a model of a car I want to 3D print, but the file I have needs some work to close all the holes.

The pic I've attached shows the inside of the model where the upper and lower section of 2 doors meet but don't touch. I've tried Netfabb but it leaves artifacts all over the model. The analysis/ inspector tool basically just makes a layer on the inside of each part rather than joining between them. I'm not quite sure how to tackle this problem, and can't find any relevant info about it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Try "Edit>Close Cracks" or "Analysis>Inspector".

If that doesn't work then it would help to attach the file you are working on so I can take it for a test run.

A out of the box solution is EDIT/MakeSolid. Make sure that CloseBoundaries is checked in AdvancedOptions. This tool builds a completely new mesh with a similar density all over. The quality of the result depends much on this density. So maybe you need to increase SolidAccuracy and MeshDensity to capture details of the source mesh. Try  SolidType=SharpEdgePreserve if there are sharp edges.

If you prefer to keep the source meshes and to repair:

- First thing I would try is to run EDIT/CloseCracks. This tool welds open boundaries if two boundaries have very same vertices. Maybe this doesn't work at all - but maybe it welds at least some areas.

- Inspector fills each open boundary per se. E.g this object owns 4 boundaries. Inspector will close each boundary.

instead a few bridges "join" the gap between the shells to a an interior boundary. This interior "hole" can be filled by Inspector clicking the sphere pointing to it.

To build such bridges yo need to SELECT two regions without missed faces  on each side of a gap and run the SELECT/Edit/Bridge tool.

Another option if the boundaries' vertices are similar but not equal (so CloseCracks fails): Select two regions to weld (e.g. The green and blue group here) and run SELECT/Edit/WeldBoundaries

This tool will weld only close by regions of the boundaries. The Zipper brush in SCULPT will help to attract the boundaries to each other.

Thanks for the responses. I'm slowly figuring this program out and I've found the briding tool. It does what I need it to, but it's going to be a slow process 😞
