Boolsche Differenz

Hello,

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum. I tried using the boolean difference function in the Meshmixer to punch one part out of another. But that only works in part. It is punched out, but the area remains closed. Where is the mistake? I took 2 pictures for a better understanding.

You are trying to apply a boolean on non watertight objects ( At least the bigger part shows a blue line which indicates an open boundary). MM supports booleans on non watertight objects only if the open boundary itself isn't intersecting the region where the boolean should happen. In such a case you need to construct watertight object first.

You should give the bigger part some thickness before (e.g.: SELECT All and run Edit/Offset). Now when both objects are watertight solids do the boolean. You might discard the interior surface later (if needed).
