Xgen hair fails to render in Arnold

Hello everyone,

So I'm learning XGen in Maya, and I'm following along in a tutorial, but I've encountered an issue with the rendering of XGen hairs.

Please see the attached images:

ViewportArnold render viewBasically, my viewport looks different from my render view in Arnold.

EDIT: I'm using Maya 2019.
