Hello everyone

aiStandardHair

If the model is interpenetrated, it should affect the whole and not just the hair tips

I've personally never thought to use the aiStandardHair with a hair card, usually, I just use aiStandardSurface. That's a really fun idea!

But when I gave it a quick test I couldn't reproduce your result. Would you be able to supply a scene file to test?

If I had to take a wild guess I'd go with not enough transparency depth samples. But again, that's a shot in the dark. A file would make this easier.

Yup, I was right. You don't have enough transparency depth samples (under ray depth in the Arnold Globals). Increase them until the problem goes away. Did you not try that when I suggested it initially?

Secondly, this shading network is a total mess. You only need 1 shader for the entire hair model, you have like 6. And you have hair shaders feeding into hair shaders. No idea why but that could cause issues with no payoff.

You should be good to go after making those changes. Let me know!

Thank you very much for your answer, I still don't know much about Arnold, so I didn't understand what you meant before. I tried it and it was indeed a problem with the transparency depth sample.
