Trying to make glowing streams with animated textures, help please :')
For the last two weeks I have been trying to create these glowing streams in maya, this is for a short film I'm working on for my final year studying animation. I was recommended by a lecturer to create an animated texture using particle effects in Nuke, which was the simplest part, and use that as an animated texture in maya on the geometry we made for the streams.
Everything went relatively okay until trying to render the sequence to showcase the first test I made. When rendering as a single image it worked fine, but when I try to render a sequence my material goes white. I don't know if I am missing anything or what.
Some more details:
I initially used the animated texture for the colour and transparency and emission for the streams, then it was recommended to plug the colour into the opacity instead and then, when both those didn't work and ended up with the same issue, I was told to export a black and white map for the opacity, plugged it in, still same issue. Also, when rendering as a sequence and my material turning pure white, the only channels that had anything in it when rendering were the blue and Luminescence channels.
Here's the first test that somewhat worked until rendering as a sequence.
Here's the version using a black and white map as the opacity, not really giving the result I wanted, but, at this point, I'm just trying to get it to work.
If there is a better way to do this please fill me in, otherwise, am I missing something here? Why is my material rendering out as pure white when rendering as a sequence?
