Texture Image File Glitch while zoomed out

Heyy!

I'm having an issue: Any image I apply to any surface seems to gradually deteriorate as the camera moves further away from the mesh.

The left shows the same box, from further away. The right shows it up close, where the texture can be clearly seen.

I am unsure what is causing this problem. I've used Maya on another computer and this has not happened. That computer was running Windows 7, I'm currently running Windows 10. I'm not sure if it's an issue with UVs... however I've never had this, as far as I can remember.

Hi!

1. Check and adjust Camera Clipping Planes

(2. Check settings for Texture Filtering, in Maya, graphic card driver, ...)

Thanks! I tried altering the clipping planes, though it didn't seem to change anything.

This has only been happening with materials that have an image/ texture. Other materials don't seem affected.

It seems to be specific to the computer that I am using, as it happens in both Maya 2015 and Maya 2016, but has never happened on the other computers.

Hi!

If the same scene works correct on other systems it's very likely a hardware / GPU problem.

Please add your system specs and upload a scene-file + texture.

Thanks, these are my system specs:

Windows 10
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Graphics

Name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 630
Manufacturer: Intel Corportation
Chip Type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
DAC Type: Internal
Device Type: Full Display Device
Approx. Total Memory: 4178MB
Display Memory (VRAM): 128MB
Shared Memory: 4050MB
Current Display Mode: 1920x1080(32bit)(59Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
HDR: Not Supported

I just made a simple scene with two primitive cubes. They have UVs, and a simple wood image from google. When I zoom out, I still get the strange, artifact-like design appearing on the textured faces. Though the distance at which the distortion begins seems to be somewhat less this time around. I'm not sure if I managed to change a setting when I was messing around. But I'm still clueless.

Hi!

The problem seems to be the texture itself.

1. Too much  compression artifacts

2. Wrong size (should be a power of 2)

Strange. It happens with every image that I seem to use though. Regardless of the image dimensions. Images, which on one computer have no issue, but on this computer seem doomed.

I guess it must be a computer issue.

Hi!

If this happens with every image please read my first reply again, if it's not 1. it's 2.

some additional options:

- Update graphic card driver (maybe just re-install after an OS update), or
- downgrade graphic card driver.
- Try different Viewport modes (in Preferences).

- get a proper 3D graphic card for Maya.
