Render View Does Not Open

I'm on a 2014 Macbook Pro 15" with Retina, and I'm running the most up to date version of Maya 2018 for Mac. I would say my skill level in maya is intermediate, as I am making an animated film for my senior project at my art college, yet the Render View does not open. I've tried both the button on the top right hand side of the screen, as well as the option in Windows>Rendering Editors>Render View. I reset my preference settings to default, and even uninstalled Maya and reinstalled it to no avail. To be clear, I click on the "Render View" button, and nothing happens. No hidden windows in my sidebar, no Render View tab somewhere on screen, it just doesn't do anything. Any solutions to this problem would be appreciated.

I have seen this often recently. Sometimes the window is there but it is really small and attached to some unexpected window or menu area. 

Try reseting your workspace to default via Windows->Workspaces->Reset "Maya Classic" to Factory Default. 

Or if you are using Arnold, try opening it with the Arnold menu.
