Hi!

You did not specify any transparency for your "new" override shader.

I don't know what you want to do or expect but maybe this is not the best way to achieve it.

How i do specify transparency in a override shader?  i don't know?  i'm new in arnold and render setup.

Basically, a shadow pass in a layer my friend, my file is there for downloading (maya 2018), thanks for your answer

Hi!

1. If you want to "catch" shadows then only the object that receives that shadows should have this "catch"-material applied. So use it only on "pPlane1".

2. It's recommended to use Arnold materials for all objects when using Arnold as renderer.

3. For passes use AOVs, for example "shadow_matte" for shadow pass. (That's maybe what you try to do, no layers needed for this)

Please read the Maya Online Help / Documentation and Arnold for Maya User Guide for more details.

Hi!

Sorry i don't understand your response.

If you don't change the material for your trees as suggested in 1. how should they loose transparency,

their render will no change in any way.

...and...

what is with 3.?

@Anonymous Chambi I saw your problem. put the "shaderoverride1" tab directly under the collection and remove "collection1_shaderE" your problem is solved.
