Render Settings Presets Per Render Layer

Hey everyone,

I'm assuming this question has been posed before, but I've searched and looked up keywords for this specifically, and am coming up with nothing. (I am using Maya 2019)

So... Is there a way, in the Legacy Render Layers setup (which I prefer), to load a Render Preset as an override itself on a given render layer? I hope this makes sense. A simple scenario would be when Render Layer 1 has a certain preset applied, and Render Layer 2 is an ambient occlusion pass with complete different settings (another preset) applied. Obviously, I don't need things like Indirect Volume rays, a super high specular or diffuse setting, etc on my AO layer. So, instead of going sample by sample, setting by setting, creating layer overrides, I would love to just load a "AO" render preset AS an override. And done.

I'm sure I'm overlooking something here, but can someone graciously help me out?
Thanks in advance,

Andy
