Hello all,
I am a new user to Redshift for Maya (coming from Mental Ray) and would like to know if there is a simple way, outside of complex post work to achieve non-volumetric projection lighting from a custom geo. I know about mesh lighting but all resources i've found on this agree that you can't do it with out significant noise in the render. Redshift is proving to be an excellent renderer but for this one thing. I've attached a screenshot of my MR render with the effects I want to replicate in Redshift. Even if i did this in post, I'd still need to find a way of clipping the glow to present the illusion that the light source is behind a physical object.
In a nutshell:
Is there a way to replicate in MR material with light projection as seen in the render using Redshift? Also, i plan on animating the camera to pan around the room, so i'm need an animation-friendly method.
