In Unity there is something called Occlusion Culling that allows you to mask an object with another object. Is there something similar in Maya? I'm trying to render out a pair of sunglasses with transparency in the lenses and would like to hide the arms and get a bit of a nose cutout using a head object. The head would be excluded from the render but still occlude the arms and the arch of the glasses where the nose passed through. I'm currently using the Arnold aiStandardSurface shader so it would need to work with that.
