Hi, I just want to ask how I can select objects in a collection without scrolling the tiny window in the property Ediotor( btw , how can I enlarge the window with the collection-objects?). I have hunderets of objects in my collection and want to remove a specific one. Obviously selecting it in the outliner DOES NOT select it in the property page of the selection.(why is that?). So do I really have to scroll the whloe list in this tiny window , find my objects I want to remove, and press remove? This will take forever. Thanks! Mick

Sorry for this issue. I tested, it's very hard to remove members of collection. But, You know, it's new feature. So, we need gather the feedback from customer.

I reported this issue to our development team.

Thank you for your report. We appreciate your post.

BTW, if you group the items (the item will be missing in collection) which you want to remove. Then you can right click in collection list window, and remove all missing objects. The item you grouped will remove from list.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the workaround! Sorry I m a former SOFTIMAGE guy, and I m used to the Pass/Partition System there, wich is based on folders in the explorer (outliner)

This extra window for the objects inside the partition/collection - workflow seems a bit strange to me at the moment. With the folder system you simply drag objects from one partition to another in the explorer/outliner.

Another thing I would like to know is why can't I open two (or more) outliners? It would be nice for drag and drop, and to have one outliner showing only the objects in the actual renderlayer( nice new feature!), and the second one showing all. This would be very helpful.

Is it possible to simpy copy -paste renderlayers?

thanks so much!

Mick

ps: how can I become beta tester? 🙂

For outliner, you can split it into two windows.

Drag the bar at the bottom of outliner.

But for the property Ediotor, it's new feature, and the fuction is limited.

I don't know anyting about beta tester.

hey,

Thanks for the hint!

I ve tried that , but unfortunatly , if you have selected a renderlayerfilter on the upper half, it will apply it also on the lower.

Would be nice to filter it seperatly. Or even better, have several floating Outliners with several filters applied.

Thanks!!!

Hi again!

The longer I think about the Renderlayer workaround for removing objects from the collection, the more I think...

am I m not allowed to group objects in my scene after setting up collections, without detroying the collections?

So I have fix all the collections where the objects that I had to group(for what reason ever) are assinged to?

I also tried to open an 2016 scene with renderlayers in it, there were gone. Is there a way to open old scenes, and get the old Renderlayer setup transfered into the new system?

Thank you so much!

Sorry, I'm not sure if we can trasform legacy render layers to new render layers.

Hello Tony,

I just want to let you know, that we tried to use the new renderlayersystem in our production.

I did a beauty layer, an ambient occlusion layer, and a shadow layer. After working one day on it everthing looked good.

After reopening the scene, all the shaders on lot of the objects were gone, and now we have to reassign everything new.

Thanks

Mick
