Movie texture not rendering

Hey guys,

I have a strange issue, where I can see the movie texture in the viewport, but when I go to render the current frame, then the polygon shows up as the default grey color - see attached images

As you can see, the "vortex" movie appears on the engines in the viewport, but not in the render.

Also, when I play the animation, the movie does not update in the viewport. The vortex movie is a movie of a vortext actually moving. Yet, in the viewport, it is only showing the first frame.

Once this issue is solved, I will probably post another question, which will ask how to make the movie texture apply to a semi sphere polygon.

EDIT: I figured out the part of how to apply across the semi sphere polygon by going under the Common Materials Attributes> Color> UV Coordinates> Repeat UV .5 .5 & Offset .25 .25 - the third attached image displaying that the viewport shows the movie file covering the entire semi sphere area. With that said, renders as a black hole, but I can only have three images to upload

Thanks in advance

Are you using a .mpeg or something?

Try to use an image sequence.

Thank you for replying. I have tried both mov and avi files. I finally used a sequence of jpeg to make it work

I followed the following YT tutorial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQw380ff6SQ&t=190s

Just in case anyone experiencing this issue, the following is how I solved my situation.

First, I was using a model that I downloaded from a website.

I was trying to apply a .mov or .avi to the sphere shaped object that appeared to be a polygon.

As you can see by the post above, I ended up using a sequence of jpeg files, but it continued to bother me that I was unable to use the .mov or .avi file. That is when I thought that the issue maybe with the object that I was applying the .mov or .avi file, which turned out to the be the case.

I created my own sphere, using the sphere under the polygon tab, followed by making it look like it was a glass texture, then I created a disc and applied the .mov file, which worked as expected, followed by placing the disc within the sphere object. I did not do as well of a job on the glass sphere, but that is ok for now.

The initial issue has been resolved. The following image is a screenshot of one of the six hundred rendered images

The upper port light still flickers, rather than have a smooth on and off sequence, but that is another issue. The final render can be seen on YT - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ7uV--gELw

I appreciate your feedback. I attempted using files in both mov and avi formats but was only successful when I opted for a JPEG sequence, naming the files in the format.

I viewed a video tutorial on Loklok available at
