Hi, I'm trying to do network rendering with mr satellite on Maya 2015 x64 SP6 (also mental ray for maya SP6).
I installed mr satellite 3.12.1 on Maya SP4's page since I didn't find it on SP5 or SP6's.
First thing I don't understand, the instructions on this page tells to install it on the slaves, while this tutorial seems to show the opposite. So I first did the whole process on the slave and when I had no good result I did it on both.
Whole process :
- • I manually created maya.rayhosts under Documents/maya/2015-x64/prefs and put:
192.168.1.25:7415
(the master's ip adress on the slave computer and vice versa, followed by the port) - • I then launched mental ray Satellite in Services (administration tools)
Then I opened my maya scene on the master and clicked "render current frame" with only "render on network machines" checked.
It only used the local machine and I got these messages in the output window :
MSG 0.0 8 MB warn 012229: could not connect to host:port 192.168.1.25:7415 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. (IPv4) MSG 0.0 8 MB error 011228: mi_msg_connect: failed to create active socket MSG 0.0 8 MB error 011706: cannot add host 192.168.1.25:7415 MSG 0.0 8 MB error 011329: mi-ray/tcp: not a service (check %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\services) MSG 0.0 8 MB warn 012219: using fallback inet service 7003 API 1.4 13 MB error 301156: undefined data block "maya_scene:colortransformdata"
I reinstalled Visual C++ 2012 as recommended in this page but it did nothing.
My computers are correctly connected via a simple residential gateway and they have the same versions of everything.
I don't have more ideas. Do you ? Or maybe one last : should I install Maya SP4 ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
