Maya won't color objects??

Okay, so my Autodesk Maya won't let me color objects in anyway. I used the Hypershader and scroll-dragged the color onto the object, but it doesn't work 😕 I'm using Autodesk Maya 2016.

You have to make sure you are editing the right shader. Sometimes Maya can still edit the default shader, even though you have assigned a shader for an object.
So to make sure, check out the attribute editor to see which shader is assigned to the object, and edit that name in the hypergraph.

sound like your scene has broken, have you tried a new scene with sphere?
