Maya render redshift

 Hi,

I have a question about the "scene translation" time render during a batch render.

From what i understand it's taking the scene to be compute and translate to the render engine.

I did a render with my computer ( bi xeon 24core 2.4ghz,  32go ram and gtx680 4go ) a really simple scene with few polygons and textures.

The render is done by redshift.

I have an inconsistant "scene translation" time goes from 0.37 seconds up to 25 seconds. It's different every frame but the scene is not displaying more polygons from the previous image. It can be 0.37 with the first frame, 24 for the second and 4.7 for the third.

What i don't understand is why with an other computer ( i7 8core 3.4ghz, 24 go ram, gtx680 2go ) the scene translation time is constant with 0.5seconds.

Anyone can help understant what goes wrong and what can i do to improve my render time ?

I have the feeling it's a sort of a lag.

thanks

Have you looked into your Redshift render logs? Could be some insight into what is going on. Are you rebuilding or loading any GI passes?

If you can upload your scene file, I can take look.

Was this problem ever solved? Facing exactly the same right now, 5 years later...

Same issue 8 months later only RenderMan because its a Maya thing and not a render engine thing.  10 minutes to translate for an 18 second render time.
