Please read to bottom

Can you really not bake high to low in Maya on a single object with UDIMS

If you can I must be doing something wrong as I have tried multiple times with different methods and output settings.

I have also tried with the UVS stuffed in one uv island, but this comes back with weird results and ideally want a

UDIM based transfer.

Things to be aware of:

- I know you can do this with ease in Substance Painter but no longer have access and don't wish to pay

- I'm aware of a widely used web based service called NormalX but I am operating on a Mac and it is not compatible

- I have Zbrush but find projecting high to low poly has varied results and never seem to get the right output when applying the displacement maps in Maya

Thats right you cant out of the box.
The only way is to move the uvs. There are some scipts that do that.
Just in case you didnt know there is a Substance Painter version on Steam for Indie Artists.
Or you could go with Marmoset.

To be honest the Maya baking tools are outdated.
