Interactive XGEN rendering all hair white with Arnold GPU

Hi, i'm using Maya 2018 because i wanted to add hair with XGEN interactive groom to an old project.

I think my scene is properly iluminated but when i hit "render" with arnold gpu, all hair is rendered white. With arnold using cpu, everything looks like it should.

In every answer i have found on this topic everyone says that this happens because hair physical shader is not supported by arnold gpu and that i should assign another shader supported by gpu instead, but i don't see anywhere how can i assign another shader on my xgen definition. I'm fairly new to shading and rendering configuration so this is probably a realy basic question.

Can anyone help me?

Select the description (for example, in the Outliner) and assign a different shader.

Im sure you no longer need this help, but i figured out how to do it while looking for this answer as well. all you have to do is assign the description a new AIStandardHair surface so that arnold can render it.
