input from 2d texture is applying to surface shader but not to poly

In the hypershade the preview shows what is should look like, but on the cube has Blinn on it but is not applying the color to it. I've tried a lot of things, making the poly NURBs, tried only applying to a face. So, what I am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

You are not in texture view mode. Try shortcut 6 on your keyboard.
