How can I update to Arnold 5 ?

Currently running Maya 2017 Update 3. 

MtoA is 1.4.2.0,  Arnold Core  4.2.16.2

Do I have to wait for Maya 2017 Update 4 ?

Why doesn't Arnold 5 come with Maya?

Hi!

The reason for this could be to provide backwards compatibility with projects already set up in Maya 2017 (pre update 4) as Arnold 5 is not (fully) backwards compatible to Arnold 4.

Exactly. Arnold 5 has a lot of changes. If Upgrade 4 included Arnold 5, then anyone using Arnold 4 in production (MtoA 1.4.2.2 or older) would hit all the incompatible changes as soon as they installed Maya 2017 Upgrade 4 and did a render.
