Flickering light VRAY

Hi all, I have a designer using vray in maya and they cant seem to stop the flickering of lights within the renders.  They have tried brute Force instead of Light Cache for primary, however it does take significantly longer per frame.

The scene is currently 14 mins per frame which seems crazy, the subdivs are high on the cobbles. But im wondering if theres any advice on stopping the flickering whilst maintaining good quality renders, plus also trying to reduce down the render times.

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

Hi!

Normally you get rid of Vray light flickering by using PrePass mode. Here's a Tutorial that explains it:

That won't lower your rendertimes though since every frame basically gets rendered twice this way.

Is this the entire shot that causes problems or just a part of it? Because if this is the full shot, you could change the camera slightly so it doesn't rotate in the end.

This would allow you to render the background separately as a bigger single image and use paralax pan in compositing for the background movement, which would eliminate 9 lights + a lot of geo + refraction/transperancy from the glass from your scene that have to be rendered every frame and get rid of the flickering in the building. That would significally lower your rendertimes.

I hope this helps!
