Fix PNG Render difference to JPEG Render

Hello,

I recently started 3D Modeling, and just got into using the free version of the Mental Ray Renderer.

I created a model of an Item from a video game, and rendered it with Mental Ray. In my Render Settings I selected PNG as the Output file format. When the render was done, in the Render Window the image looked completely fine, so I saved it as a .png file, but when I looked at it by directly opening the image, for some reason the light in the item was removed, and looked really strange (I attached the PNG and the JPEG version of the region of the render in question to the post).

So instead I saved it again as a JPEG and it looks normal. I guess this has something to do with the whole transparency thing going on with PNG? And if so more importantly how can I save a PNG that looks exactly like the result in the render window?

Thanks in advance
