I'm learning Xgen to render fur. I'm using Arnold to render. I create a map to texture my fur. Then I go to the created file node and load my existing .bmp file to use as a texture. The resulting PTEX image is brighter than the original. I did some testing, and noticed however that perfect red (255,0,0), green (0,255,0), or blue(0,0,255) are exactly correct in the created PTEX. But the farther you move away from the primaries, the color becomes brighter than my original texture. For example, purple (50,0,75) in the PTEX file is much much more pink. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know if I'm doing something wrong?
