Computer keeps going into power save mode when I render

Hey Everyone,

ok so my computer keeps going into power save mode every time I start a render. The render will go for a little while, but will be extremely laggy and freeze my computer a little bit. After a while it will randomly black screen and say computer has gone into sleep mode, the only way out is by restarting the computer. This only happens when I begin rendering in maya, no matter what the project. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I'm all ears. Thanks!

Hi!

Some systems rely on mouse action or any other input device, but when rendering or recording sometimes there is no mouse action for several hours.

I don't recommend to use any type of power saving for a workstation.

When "working", all components should be on and at max.

I make sure to keep my mouse moving or keep some input command happening when the computer is rendering. I can't change the sleep mode on here due to this being a work computer. When it goes into power saver mode I can't get out of it.

It may or may not be related to this. But I remember someone else going crazy with I don't know what problems in Maya and it turned out to be this. I had to with a University computer Lab running Maya on a bunch of DELLs.

Can you disable the backup utility that comes with your DELL?  Or uninstall it? Or update it to some newer version?
