Hello there!
My biggest problem is that I cannot start RedShift render in Maya because most of my dedicated VRAM is occupied. I updated and rolled back my 3070Ti drivers for several times and even reinstalled Windows with all the programs. And my little investigation shows that after a reboot before starting any app task manager shows dedicated VRAM usage less than 1 of 8GB. After opening Maya it's around 3 GB and finally when I open current scene it jumps to around 7GB. Is that OK?
I want to mention that scene is not heavy - head basemesh from XYZ texturing with texture maps (one is 16K)? few light sources and xGen descriptions for eyelashes & eyebrows. Have you met something similar? And is there any way to fix this issue? I did everything RedShift support adviced me to do but render just can't start without enough VRAM. I don't have a supermachine, main specs are: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 128 GB RAM, 3070 Ti 8GB. But it should be enough.
Please help me to fix this issue. Seems like all that should be done is lowering VRAM consumption for Maya app
I am able to start rendering if instantly after loading scene I press render or IPR render button. In this moment VRAM is in process to being fully load so RedShift can use needed VRAM memory amount. However if I turn Global Illumination on there will be not enough VRAM for rendering.
I did my best to unload the viewport (enabling bounding box display for geometry, turning off texture display) but that gave me nothing. Different Maya versions act the same and my friend is not having such issues (high VRAM consumption).
How and why is that possible and more important - how do I fix it?
