Can't enable Mental Ray

I just reinstalled Maya 2016 (mac) due to a problem where it would crash to desktop when assigning a texture file.

I reinstalled Maya Service pack 6 then installed the Mental Ray plugin. Whenever I try to enable the Mayatomr.bundle it automatically, instantly unticks the box. Please help as mental ray is hugely important to my project!

P.S. The original problem hasn't been fixed with the reinstall, it was a clouds file, no matter how I formatted it it would ALWAYS crash to desktop 😞

did you install mental ray sp6? service packs of maya and mr have to be the same for it to work!

Yes I installed the Maya SP6 that was on the same page as the mental ray I installed!

Hi @Oligabe617,

do you see the Mental Ray Plugin in the Plugin Manager? When you load it, do you get an error message?

I've encountered the exact same problem. I don't get an error message when I click on load. Nothing happens. The mayatomr.bundle info button is greyed out as if I don't have the plug in. 

Has someone found a solution to this:?
