Can Maya render multiple frames simultaneously?

Hi,

I am using Maya 2014 and I'm currently rendering with mental ray on my HP Pavilion Wave 600. My question is, is it possible if Maya could render multiple frame simultaneously to save render time? If it can, do I need to build a render farm or I can just use one computer to make it happen?

Maya does use 100% of your CPU during rendering.

If you render two frame at the same time each will get 50% CPU + overhead + you will ran out of ram.

Rendering multiple frame on one computer is not an good idea.

If you would use a GPU render each GPU could render one frame. But you would need a lot of system ram.

If you use a renderfarm there are a lot of solutions.
