Black spots on mesh faces

Hi I'm currently working on a set for my junior film but I am having an issue. Every time I import new meshes that are a bit poly heavy and re-open a scene, the textures are messed up. They have black faces speckled on the meshes. I am rendering with redshift and using redshift materials.  The textures are pretty simple and run through the whole mesh.

I'll place the problem screenshot and how it rendered before this issue. I'm wondering if anyone else has experience this and how they managed to fix it. Re-importing the meshes is one way to temporary fix the problem but if there is another way of not having to constantly re-import and re-position the models that would be awesome!

Thank you!

It looks very much like you've got two copies of the model in the same place.

Three things to try:

  1. See if there's two of them (duh, I know).
  2. See if there's two of them merged together:  As a test, can you click on your wolf, and do Mesh>separate. Then click on him again, and move him. If you've got two copies of the mesh, merged together, as second wolf should show up.
  3. Click your wolf, and do mesh cleanup, with 'lamina faces' selected. Perhaps you've got a realllly thin model, and the inside is poking out.

If none of those work, it might be your normals. Try unlocking and averaging them, under Mesh Display.

Thank you! Unlocking the normals fixed the issue.
