Arnold standin low poly translator MASH error - Maya 2017 update3

Hey everyone,

I'm using an Arnold Standin via low poly objects translator attribute. Works perfectly so far on its own. Shows up in render.

Problem is once I apply a MASH network to that object which I intended to use with placer, i get the following error below.

MASHnewNetwork("MASH#");
// MASH1 MASH1_Repro MASH1_Distribute //
// Error: [mtoa.translator]  MASH1_ReproMeshShape           | Mesh not exported, it has 0 shading groups. //

The distributed low-poly only shows up in the render without the translator working inside MASH. Any ideas?

MASH does not accept arnold standin objects to my knowledge so this is why I'm using the Arnold translator in low poly mesh.

Hi!

"MASH does not accept arnold standin objects to my knowledge..."

Wrong, MASH does work with Arnold StandIn, but you have to select "Instances" and not "Mesh" as Geometry Type when creating the MASH Network.

@mspeer Oh man!

It worked perfectly. I'm kinda new to MASH and as soon as I hit the 'switch geometry' button in the toolbar it worked.

THANK YOU!
