Arnold Render View Bug?

Hi...

... I´ve got the following problem. When I Render with Arnold, the results appeared to be washed out (sometimes). This happens in both, the Maya Render View aswell as in the Arnold Render View. I "fix" this problem by switching to the Maya Software Renderer and back to Arnold (Maya Render View)... Does anyone know why and even better can offer a solution?

It does not feel like, Arnold is fully implemented (Yet)...  How many Maya Versions do I have to wait?

Cheers

Peter

P.s Viewport renderer would also be cool!

@Sharp-visions

Can you post a screenshot of the issue?

Sounds like a gamma issue. Are you using color management? And linear workflow?

The rendering pipeline can be broken down into the following steps:

Without properly color manged images you will have issues with darker or lighting images because the gamma is not correct.

Cheers

Hi Faline... thx for the quick reply...

your posted link seems to be outdated. In Maya 2017 I dont have a gamma correction tab under the Render Settings. The screenshot shows the problem... And it will dissapear, If I switch to Maya Software Renderer and back to Arnold (in Maya Render View)... Its not a permanent problem. Mostly it helps to close the Arnold Render View and open it again...

I don´t had made any color correction adjustments to my scene. The only thing I had done is to set my normal maps to raw under the shader menu.

Maybe you´ve got an idea what I have to do... And maybe youve got an advice, how I have to setup my scene for linear workflow correctly. Its a little bit confusing, because maya is new to me and it seems like, that there were changes between Arnold in Maya 2016 and 2017...

Cheers

Peter

PS: Sorry for my bad english 😉

Hi

You have to update. Almost certainly, the problem you're having has been fixed.

The current version is 1.4.2.2.

Get it here: https://www.solidangle.com/arnold/download/#arnold-for-maya
