Trying to fine tune software rendering in Arnold (MtoA 3.3.3.3; Maya v 2018.5, Arnold Core v5.2.1.0), going through the diagnostics text file.

In the "top session self-times by node", section, the majority of the time is taken up by "worker waiting". Can anyone explain what this is, and if it's possible to reduce the render time caused by it?

Thanks

Partial copy/paste:

worker waiting is when threads are waiting for some other thread to finish

I think we'd have to see the frame time section too
