Area light freezing and crashing Maya?

Starting a few days ago, every time I add an area light to a scene, if it doesn't completely crash Maya, it takes between 2-4 minutes of lag before the lights will add. I have reset prefs, this isn't helping. I reinstalled Maya 2022 completely about 2 weeks ago. It's been so buggy lately, the lights are just the newest issue. Is anyone else experience major bugs, and freezing when adding lights?

My scene really isn't over large, and the only other light I have is a directional light. The exposure of my existing area lights are only at 4. I even exported everything out, and re-imported into a new fresh scene. Also, when I exported me scene, I included my lights, but when importing into the new scene..... the lights are there, sort of, but aren't working. In the outliner, they have a blue star next to them. it's like there is just a placeholder for them. I made sure my import/export settings included lights. I feel like there are more bugs now with 2022, than there were when I downloaded it earlier this year 😕

I read a couple of posts from others that had similar issues with the freezing after adding lights. But there was no resolution. - thank you

I have the exact same problem. Since it doesn't crashes when I add an area light in a fresh and new scene, I figured my scene might be too heavy and tried deleting some meshes but to no avail. Maya keep crashing... Have you found a solution yet ?

I am so sorry I wish I could remember, that was a couple of years ago. And I honestly haven't used my very much in the last couple of years.

I feel like I surely got past it somehow, but I can't even think of what scene I was working on. If I do remember, I'll send you a reply back.

No problems here, you shouldn't uninstall just because one thing isn't working, this can create a lot more troubles, have you installed the latest Arnold as well? Are these Arnold lights Brandy?
