Model Stripping - Reduce Project Size.

Hey,

I am wondering if a tool already exists to strip all the unnecessary information from a model?
We would be using the models with Unity and we would only need the Mesh information left over.
In a project with hundreds of models the File and Scene information as more of the Model would take up alot of project resources.

The strict necessary infos of a mesh are the one you can find in a OBJ file (vertices pos, orders, UVs, normals, etc).

So if you need to make a purge, just make a script that export each mesh individually as an Obj file.

Now your question is accurate enough, I don't know if your mesh has a rig, key animation or stuffs like that

Depends on the usage for the model, but color can often be unnecessary.

All the additional information in an FBX though would definitely be.

Yeah that would be a solution. to reduce the size of files if they only include stuff they should.

But there wouldn't be a tool that would automatically help strip parts of a model that you wouldn't need after export?
