Backburner Cmdjob process error 2 when rendering Maya scenes via Command Prompt

Hello All,

I am receiving the error "Cmdjob adapter: Create Cmdjob process error:2" when I use the Windows Command Prompt to submit Maya scenes to my render farm through Backburner.  Interestingly, when I open the same scene in Maya and submit the same job via the Backburner Window (Render > Create Backburner Job...), I do not receive this error and the scene renders perfectly.

To help illustrate this problem, I've created a short video that shows exactly what I am doing, and how I am receiving the error:  Here is the link: http://screencast.com/t/ZNrjka3kl

If the above link does not work directly out of this post, it can be copied and pasted directly into the browser, and it will work.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks for your help,

Quintin

Hi,

Does the user who launching Maya and user who executes cmdjob.exe both are same? or in other words, does the user is having full permission to access the file ehich is located in network path?

you can map the network path to drive like below

Z:\ to \\SEAGULLSERVER2\Real Flow Data\tenacious

then submit the job using z:/tenacious/maya/ret

Thanks,

Vijaya Prakash.

Is this a network issue? Did this fix the problem? We are having the same issue.

Any chance you figured out how to fix this error? I'm having a nightmare trying to get it sorted out this morning 😫

For anyone else who is trying to fix this error, you need to set the Renderer Path in the Backburner options (in Maya) to the correct path for your Maya year. C:/Program Files/Autodesk/*Maya2023*/bin/Render

It should then work correcly.
