Script Editor menu bar is hotkeyed???!!!

So I was merrily coding away when my peripheral vision caught flashes from the main Maya window.  My cursor had drifted out of the scriptEditor window and I was hitting all sorts of hotkeys.  Well, one of those hotkeys causes the menu bar in the scriptEditor window to disappear!!!  Who in their right mind would hotkey something like that?!

So I moved my prefs folder and restarted Maya.  I whittled it down to something in the userPrefs.mel file that keeps that info of whether to display the menu bar or not.  I searched specifically for "criptEd" and "script ed" and found nothing related to menu bars.  If someone knows of the command that handles that, I would be interested to know.

Thank you...and be careful.  🙂

Hi,

I'm guessing Shift+M which is TogglePanelMenubar.

Yes, this is a completely bizarre thing to have a hotkey for but all I can tell you is that this was added to Maya 23 years ago but the reasons are lost to the sands of time. 🤔
