Maya scene won't open

I'm having issues with Maya, not sure if it's the new 2023 update. I was working on one of my scenes, saved it, tried to open it 30 minutes later and it just stays as a white blank window. I check on the task manager and it says not responding. I tried deleting preferences, didn't work. I tried opening it using a PC on campus at uni, the same result, and they still use 2022 Maya. It seems it is now corrupted. Luckily I had a similar copy that I carried on working with, saved it last night before I went to bed, tried to open it just now and the exact same thing has happened. Any ideas? I'm afraid to do any more work because it seems it's happening for every scene I work on.

Hi!

I could open your file. But ofcourse I didn't have all the Referenced Files or the Textures on my Drive and Maya skipped those steps. So chances are the Problem lies there somewhere. Have there been any resent changes to a Referenced file? This could potentially be the reason that all your files don't open up.

I attached the File that I saved after I opened it, but I don't think it is going to be of much use since it just contains the Bird rig, the image planes, the Houses and the light Setup but no Textures or Animation what so ever.

If you had the corrupted file in ASCII instead of Binary I could have checked it for problematic values and probably saved more of your Scene. You should consider saving in the ASCII format until the file gets referenced/rendered in the future.

Something you could try out, is to rename your file as Pre_Vis_Scene_2_2.mb. Because the the brackets, the full stop and the spaces in the name can potentially trip up a file while loading. Those symbols should generally be avoided while naming files. I use a Mac which is generally robust when it comes to filepaths, so that could also be a reason I could open the file and you couldn't, I can't tell.

Anyway, I hope this helps at least a little. Good luck finding a Solution.
