Maya Can't Find Script

Saved a mel script in Maya 2016 with this path-> C:\Users\John Grivas\Documents\maya\2016\prefs\scripts
See screen shot. It is a simple script , creates one blade of grass.
The name of the procedure is grass;
I have a mel button on the shelf : source grass;
                                                 grass;

 Maya Still can't find the file.
I tried putting the mel file
in every script file possible,
still nothing. I've gotten the path 
I mentioned above to work on another
file, but not this one.   ???

I fixed it. The problem was the file had not been saved.

Not the script file, the Maya file.
