Maya button created with python and added using script editor persist when deleted

I would like to find a way to delete a custom python script added to shelf. When i do so it spawns back when i open another shelf or when i close and reopen maya. I couldn't find a solution online and this is the case for maya 2023 and 2024.1

This is the case for any python script even one that creates a simple sphere.
