Hello,

I'm looking to create "tokens" that I can place in my render output paths, so that I can set the paths via custom attributes on a node.  The studio I work for is in the process of moving from Softimage to Maya and I am hoping to port over some of our core Softimage tools to Maya.

We use a custom property, attached to the scene root in Softimage, to store scene variables like the name and version.  We then reference this custom property in the Render Output texts fields (ie [Value Scene_Root.CustomProperty.Parameter]).

I've only found one other thread that vaguely covers this subject on CGTalk.  From there, I was able to find a couple of files referencing the default tokens in Maya.  But I am unsure as to how to proceed in adding more.  Does anyone know how to go about adding custom render tokens in Maya?  Or could point me to a good resource?
