About Maya Web browser capabilities for importing content from the web (Sketchfab)

Hi!

Is it (really) possible to access a web browser from a Maya plugin and have some communication between them ?

There are some mentions about a Maya web browser that has been discontinued since years, and today the remaining option seems to be the Maya Web Browser plug-in (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/Maya/fil...).

Is there any available plugin doing something like this, (or maybe a sample that I missed) ?
Or maybe it's not possible at all, and the UI needs to be done entierly using Maya scripts ?

To provide some context, we (Sketchfab) are currently investigating how we could make the Sketchfab Free CC content available for Maya users a Plugin, like we already do for others 3D authoring tools.

Having access to a web browser while being able to communicate would help us to:
* handle autentication to Sketchfab through oauth workflow
* provide a nice user experience by handling the browsing entierly from web

Any reference, hint or info about this would be very much appreciated 🙂

Thanks!

Aurélien
