Why does this .fbx export appear black?

Hello again! I'm a longtime Blender user that's migrating to Maya for university. I'm trying to paint a model in Substance Painter, but something appears to be wrong with my exported .fbx.

The model appears to be completely black in Windows' 3D viewer:

And when attempting to import the model into Adobe Substance Painter, I get the following errors:

[Scene 3D] [FBX] : Mesh normals are invalid (some values are null) and will be recomputed
[Scene 3D] Loading failed
[Scene 3D] Failed to load 3D scene.
Loading failed

However, the model looks fine in Maya:

What am I doing wrong?

You can find the Maya binaries here!

An update on this!

I imported the .fbx into Blender to take a look (given it's the program I'm more familiar with). The model was super small, and the UV shells were huge 😖

Adjusting the scale and re-exporting the .fbx from Blender helped! However, it's imperative that I learn how to do this entirely within Maya.

How do I set the scale of a model in Maya? In Blender, there's a "Transform" menu that allows one to set a model's dimensions. Does Maya have an equivalent?

Also, in Maya, my UV map looks like this:

Everything's within the "boundaries" of Maya's UV editor, why were the UV shells so big?

The scale attributes are in the channel box. right side of viewport.

You can reposition the UVs before taking it into Painter

Also remember to clean your history to avoid corrupting your file and use .ma files , not mb .I would recommend scaling up your model, it's very tinny , it's only 9 inches tall.

Hey! I understand that, but it only allows me to scale an object relative to its current dimensions.

How can I set an object's height in meters?

Freeze the transformation and then use the Distance tool Create>Measuring tools
