UV seams always visible

UV seams always visible

Hello,

I am a very beginner so forgive me If I am asking something simple. I've spent countless hours looking on forums etc, but couldnt find a solution to my issue.

I am trying to model a rock, but the uv seems are always visible, regardless of the texture or normal map I am applying to it.

In the images below I have highlighted the edge border that is always visible.

Model

UVs

Textured and rendered

How can I get rid of this seam?

Hi,

Can I see the texture you're applying to your model? I'm guessing that your texture isn't tileable and thats why you're getting the seam.

The seam is visible regardless of the texture. I have tried with tileable textures as well...

just placing a tileable will not help since the uv´s don´t allow for a proper tiling. you´ll be maybe more succesfull with a projection or multiple projections which blend into each other or a 3d painting software.
when using a baked normal map you should not get visible seems. if there are seems with just a normal map the problem could be something else.
one of them is maybe that some parts touching the uv space borders. depending on your texture resolution etc. you should leave some padding all around.
also is there a special reason for your seem placement and appearance? i would choose a straight loop and not this zig-zag line. it´s much harder to paint out seems in photoshop and give you a higher risk of aliasing artifacts when baking.
