Stich and unwrap CAD model?

Hi there,

 

I want to texture my CAD (surface) model in Mudbox, in order to get some realistic renders, but before that I need to convert it to polygons and unwrap. How can I do it?

As you can see in outliner, it has got groups of surfaces, one for each body. I need to join them first into a solid and then convert the solid into a good-looking mesh. And then unwrap it, but that's the least problem here. Is that something possible with Maya? Or 3ds Max, maybe?
