Started new file. Blue face/edge/vertex linking issue.

Hi, I am having some trouble editing polygons. My issue is that whenever I select a face/edge/vertex, the opposite side of the polygon turns blue. Which in affect leads to any move I make is also applied to the opposite side. I tried starting a new file with only a cube polygon, but still have this same problem. I haven't been using the "Duplicate Special" option. So I'm just really confused. Also, I have tried using the "Separate" option as well.

Please assist. Thanks.

Double-click on the selection tool icon to open its settings. Turn symmetry to off under the Symmetry Settings section.
