Random Vertex Disconnect Over Entire Model.. (Maya 2019)

Hi All,

I've come across an issue I feel i've invested way too much time trying to fix. I'm working on a model which will mostly be continously modelled for which I did some mesh combine and target welding. For whatever reason, when I go to UV Map it, it says certain edges and verties havent fully joined wit the model. I feel like i'm constantly target welding areas that I've already done before. Not sure what's going on.

If it helps, I'm using Maya 2019.

Please let me know your thoughts.

I've attached images below.

Thanks in advance!

Just re weld those vertices, delete history, close Maya and reopen, make sure is the same file you are working on.

Alright, I will try that. I'm worderingif it's a Maya 2019 problem because I've been using 2018 for a long time and haven't come across that problem ever.

So I've tried your suggestion as well as updating Maya, but the issue still exists.

Also forgot to add, when I click the "Layout" button in the Uv editor, it breaks some of the UVs I've sticked together.

You can't target weld in the UV editor, use the modeling panel or snap the vertices with V and merge.

I actually never target weld in the UV editor. Only in the modeling space.

Okay, from here I can't help any further, is there a way to record your actions as an mp file and post it?

So I'm not sure what happend, but all of a sudden, it's working correctly. clcicking layout doesnt break the UV Shell and I've target welded all the outlier vertetices.

Thanks for taking the time to help out! If I come across the issue again or a different issue, I'll let you know.
